The Best Guard Dog EVER

Isn't he sweet? Most of the time unless it's at night and he's outside and barking. Which brings us to Friday night, March 13th. We went to bed and at some point we woke up to hear Oliver barking in the backyard. Barking loud and barking long. For some reason lately, he's insisted that he sleep outside. We think he has a bunny for a girlfriend and they rounde vous each night-you know - same time same place.

Well on that night, Oliver just kept on barking. Patrick got out of bedding mumbling something not so very nice about said dog and trudged down stairs to yell at him. He paused at the back door for a few minutes as he heard a ruckus outside. Nothing really out of the ordinary. As it gets warmer our corner seems to be the teen spot to hang out on day or night. Patrick eventually opened the door to yell at Oliver only to see a car with people in it parked on the side lot and a woman (who looked vaguely like Jesy), running down the middle of road in high heels holding a Kroger's bag and squealing.  He tucked this thought into the back of his brain and went back to bed.

The next morning we woke up had breakfast and Patrick and the kids went upstairs to work on laundry. They opened up the front blinds and lo and behold we had been t'pd the night before. Suddenly it all came back. Yes, indeed, faithful readers, that WAS Jesy running down the middle of the road the night before! She along with George, Matt and Jami had decided to pay us a visit. BOY were they surprised to find Oliver not only outside but barking. They said the minute the crossed onto our front yard property he let them have it.  Ahhhh, good doggie!

George will take no credit for being involved as it was the saddest toilet papering job ever. However, Athena and Carter thought it was the absolute best thing since Christmas. It entertained them the entire morning. The best thing was the Easter peeps sprinkled all over the yard.  Oh and I almost forgot the two for sale signs. (BTW our sweet neighbor was soooo worried we were moving. Quote: "I know we don't talk to you much, but I consider you a good neighbor". Ummmm okay.)

Carter was a bit annoyed as he wasn't allowed to eat the peeps that had sat outside all night. "Why would someone ruin candy like that, Mommy?".  Here's my two peeps:

And here's one of them finding alternate uses for toilet paper:

Stay tuned for tomorrow's post - Peep You're IT!!!

Is this an American custom - being 'toilet papered'? How funny. Good old Oliver. Best dog ever.

It's a fairly common practice for teenagers to do to their friends or enemies. Not so common for 20 somethings to do it. We're the second house in the family to get "hit". They did Carol's (Jesy's Mom) back in the Fall. Who knows who's next!

it is more of a "drunken" thing!! We had done such a good job at my mom's house that we thought we could do it again at the Eborall's too! Guess not.. thanks to Oliver. It was hilarious b/c all four of us headed to the house but as soon as Oliver started barking Jami and George bolted while Matt and I tried to throw a couple of rolls of TP but Oliver wouldn't shut up so we just bolted too. Then we go in the car, drove around the block, parked in front of the house to throw a couple more rolls and the peeps. Oh well, can't wait till the next house is hit!! We will have to wait for another drunken night!
