Christmas this year was the best eveh! or so it will be in our eyes.
Everyone was well (except for a few minor sniffles) after spending the last few weeks fighting stomach bugs and bad colds.
Everyone got exactly what we wanted for Christmas and then some.
We started a new tradition.
But first, a quick review of the past 4 or 5 months......
At the end of July we took a very quick road trip to Chicago and the American Girl Doll store. Athena earned the trip due to all of her hard work in 2nd Grade. We paid for the trip and a lunch at the AGD store; while Athena was responsible for buying things from the store.
Needless to say, we had a great time! We stayed in
an absolute dive on South Lakeshore Drive in Hyde Park. The location was perfect but the hotel was very seedy. The nicest thing was the free parking and the free breakfast. We took the bus into the city each day (we were only there two days). The kids absolutely loved taking the bus. As were weren't there long, we didn't do to much other than go to the AG store and eat Chicago style pizza. Right before we left to come home, we went to the Navy Pier. It was fun, but really not a place we'd go back to as it was so commercial. We'd like to plan another trip to the Windy City so that we can hit the Museums. (photos are from my phone so might be a bit grainy or distorted.)

Then there was back to school in late August. Carter started Kindergarten and Athena entered into the 3rd Grade. Carter did NOT want to start school. He told me that I couldn't make him go to school. Well, I did and he now loves it. Both are excelling and growing. It's lovely to watch.
